Dictionary (ISO Terms)
[A] Alcohol - is an organic compound in which the hydroxyl functional group (-OH) is bound to a carbon atom.
[E] Evaporation (Evap) - is a type of vaporization of a liquid that only occurs on the surface of a liquid. The other type of vaporization is boiling, which, instead, occurs within the entire mass of the liquid. We use it in ISO Extractions to Remove the alcohol and just leave behind Sticky oil.
[I] Isopropyl Alcohol (ISO) - is a common name for a chemical compound with the molecular formula C3H8O. It is a colorless, flammable chemical compound with a strong odor. We use it as the solvent to perform an ISO extraction.
[P] Purge - Is to remove oils of all unwanted air vapors.
[W] Washing (Wash, Washes) - is when the ISO is coming in contact with your herbs. It is the act of removing the essentials oil glands off of your plant and on to the pyrex dish.
